One of the most popular residential areas in the area with a great variety of nationalities, El Tosalet is an urbanisation of Jávea built in 1966, at the initiative of the owner of the land, Mrs. Julia Jiménez Muro. It was a grand agricultural farm with vineyards, carob trees, orange trees and pines 🌳.

The inauguration of the development had a great social impact throughout Spain. El Tosalet de Jávea was at the time one of the most prestigious newly built residential areas and quickly became on of the most sought after places for its unique gardens and landscape, in addition to the proximity to the Arenal beach.



 

This residential area is designed as a tribute to the traditional architecture and the landscape of Jávea. All the houses built in El Tosalet are in the Mediterranean style and characterized by their extensive nayas or covered terraces, historical heritage of what were formerly the riuraus, or the wood and brick structures used on the farms as grape driers.
